There are many different efforts being conducted to ensure the preservation of the Endangered (WWF) green sea turtles. Personally I worked with Archie Carr Center at the University of Florida going to beaches and examining them for whether or not they are suitable turtle nesting sites. These types of studies are being conducted worldwide so that these areas can be preserved and mandates can be put into place. Further more, turtle trackings are being done so that we can understand what occurs between the time that baby turtle emerges and the time that it nests. However, it is of the utmost importance that we attempt to slow the process for global warming or we run the risk of losing green sea turtles to extinction.
